Welcome to the 2017 Coaching/Volunteer & Background Screening Registration with Hudson Boosters!
In this session, you will be asked information, which will be used to conduct a background screening, conducted by Blueline Services.
In addition this session serves as the way for you to register yourself as a coach or volunteer for the Hudson Boosters, and filling out this registration is REQUIRED to enable the Dibs family waiver.
This registration is meant for coaches to register themselves with Boosters and agree to the coaching policies of the club, both in-house and traveling. This applies to anyone coaching for Boosters, T-Ball level and higher.
Coaches who need Dibs credit:
If you have one or more baseball or softball players at the 3rd grade or higher level (Junior League and up, or 10U and up) then you automatically have a Dibs committment. Booster policy is to waive this for our coaches up to the 8 hour family maximum. Filling out this registration is required to have that Dibs requirement waived.
Other (non Dibs system) volunteers:
Additionally, those who volunteer time for the Boosters OUTSIDE OF THE DIBS SIGN-UP SYSTEM can also fill out this registration to request Dibs credit. If you signed up for a shift through the DIBS system and have not yet seen credit, please DO NOT fill out this form. Please be patient and your credit will be given to you as time permits during our busy summer season.
Dibs/volunteer requirements in 2017 - 4 Hours per player, with a family maximum of 8 hours
In 2013 the Hudson Booster club added a volunteer requirement to our baseball & softball registrations. Running the Booster baseball and softball leagues takes a tremendous amount of behind the scenes work which is entirely done by volunteers. We feel by getting more volunteers involved, the work it takes to run the programs can be spread out amongst the families that benefit from the youth sports experience. Then more bandwidth can be applied to improving these programs even further – field maintenance & improvements, increasing the training for coaches & umpires, running more regional tournaments, etc. By getting involved, families will gain a greater appreciation of everything the Boosters do for the youth and community as a whole. Volunteer programs have become common among youth sports programs, as both Hudson Soccer and Hudson Hockey run similar programs.
Due to the success of the volunteer program last year, the Booster club has set the requirements for 2017 at 4 hours per player with a family maximum of 8 hours.
NEW for 2017 -
All traveling programs, plus in-house programs 3rd grade and above will have this requirement. Tee-ball and machine pitch leagues do not have this requirement.
Coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers will still have their Dibs/volunteer hours WAIVED. This is a great chance for you to volunteer, teaching sportsmanship and game skills to the youth of Hudson.
